Community Chiropractic Is a
Veteran Owned Business

Three veterans smiling together.

As a Navy Vietnam War veteran, Dr. Wolverton understands the emotional and physical struggles that other vets face. That’s why he has a particular interest in helping other veterans experience the healing they need to have a healthy life.

He shares about his time in the service: “I’m a charter member of the Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club in South Vietnam and was there when the war started to escalate. There was action there in the Gulf, in the South China Sea, and in the interior of the country. I was there for a good share of it. I was encouraged to re-enlist, but they had already given me orders to be on a river patrol boat. At that time, the life expectancy on a river patrol boat was about 3 minutes, so I did not re-enlist.

When I was a new veteran back in the states, people would look at you and even spit at you. You didn’t want to walk through the airports alone, and you’d try to maintain a low profile. At the time, veterans did not enjoy the image and support of today’s veterans.

When you come back and survive all that you experienced (and many veterans didn’t), and you have to put up with that treatment from fellow Americans here at home, it’s really sad. It affected my attitude. After returning from Vietnam, it took me a long time to get my attitude together and get used to being a civilian. I worked different jobs, doing all kinds of things. I didn’t go to college until about 20 years after graduating from high school. I’ve been to many parts of the world and have done many things, including working in the food and beverage industry and having my own landscaping business.

After experiencing the incredible effects of chiropractic care for pain that resulted from a sneeze, Dr. Wolverton knew he would change career paths and become a chiropractor.

Creating a Positive Environment for Vets

At Community Chiropractic, it’s important to create a respectful and welcoming environment for veterans. “They’re doing a tough job, and if our military wasn’t there or doesn’t fulfill their commissions, then our country would be in even worse shape,” said Dr. Wolverton.
