Chiropractic Care

This form of natural health care focuses on the evaluation of your spine and structure as far as how it moves and the way it moves. We just need to remove nerve interference first. We are looking for the cause of you symptoms/condition, not merely knocking down that symptom.

We will also discuss and counsel you on activities of daily living (ADL’s). So many people are causing and or aggravating their own symptoms and conditions without realizing it. Making some relatively minor changes in your ADL’s helps us to both pull in the same direction, as it were.

Consider; ‘keep doing that you’re doing and you will keep getting what you’re getting’. If that is working for you, keep doing it, but I think it’s probably not working for you, or you wouldn’t be looking for natural pain relief care.

The Effects of Nerve Interference

Chiropractic helps to free nerve expression by removing the roadblocks between the brain (the master computer) and where all that information is going to and coming back from. When that tissue is not performing correctly, there’s usually interference between the brain and the tissue. Various symptoms or conditions can develop, including pain.

Most of the time that interference is in the spine, where it’s interfering with that process. By removing the roadblocks in the spine, you allow more free nerve expression. Then the tissue gets the correct information so that it can perform the ways that it’s designed to and the body will heal itself.

More Than Pain Relief

While chiropractic does an excellent job of alleviating pain, pain is not directly what we’re about; it’s a secondary benefit.

Once you get the tissue systems performing at optimum, there’s no more need for symptoms because the symptoms are there to tell you that something isn’t working properly. If what we can do is improve the function of the system, then the symptoms can go away.

We hope that people look at chiropractic care as their first choice in health care, not as a last resort.

It’s important to know that chiropractic doesn’t treat anything. However when we remove interference in the nervous system through the chiropractic adjustment, we can address issues that include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Back pain
  • Headaches & migraines

  • Leg pain
  • Neck pain

  • Sciatic pain
  • Shoulder pain

At Community Chiropractic, we offer an array of techniques to adjust your joints and vertebrae to reduce nerve irritation and allow more free nerve expression. With the help of chiropractic, the body can heal itself. We just need to get the roadblocks out of the way.

Our techniques include manual and instrument-assisted. We also provide various physical therapy modalities. “I will ‘Wolvertonize’ just about any method to make it personalized for the needs of each patient,” said Dr. Wolverton.

After determining which vertebrae have lost their normal motion or position, a specific manual thrust is applied to free up “stuck” or subluxated spinal joints.

Impulse iQ®

This computerized adjusting instrument delivers a precise pressure to the joint that is misaligned/subluxated with the goal of restoring function and range of motion.

Koren Specific Technique (KST)

By testing and challenging specific muscles, we can determine the exact location of lost structural integrity and many non-spinal health problems. This technique uses the ArthroStim instrument.

Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT)

Sacro Occipital Technique helps normalize the relationship between the pelvis and the head, using gravity to make the necessary correction.

Electronic Muscle Stim PT

This therapy, which is used along with moist heat, forces the muscles along the spine to relax. EMS is highly effective for providing pain relief.

Moist Heat PT

This damp heat source is ideal for relaxing and soothing sore muscles, joints and ligaments.

Rapid Release Therapy PT

Originally designed to break down scar tissue, this ultra-speed vibration therapy helps to stimulate lymphatic circulation and relax tight muscles.

VibraCussor Percussion Therapy PT

This therapy is a gentle approach that’s used to address problems in the muscles and ligaments. It’s used to stimulate lymphatic flow to help further relax the muscles. It usually tkes the place of ice in the office.

Wobble Chairs PT

Used as part of The Pettibon System, the Wobble Chair is a patented, height-adjustable stool with a specially designed seat. The mechanism in the seat provides range-of-motion exercise required for lumbar disc mobility and it helps to reduce back pain.

By using the chair, you will teach the lower spine and pelvic area to work the way it should instead of the way it is working. That station will be your first stop once you’re established.

Do I have to go for the rest of my life?

The choice of how long you want to be under care is up to you. Please note that getting care on a regular basis allows you to stay healthy and function well. Many patients elect to continue with some kind of wellness and prevention-level chiropractic care with our Wellness Club.

Should I expect to get better after my first visit?

While you will likely experience some improvement after your initial appointment, chiropractic takes time. It’s not about a quick fix. It’s like a remodel. As Dr. Wolverton likes to say, “It takes time to put Humpty Dumpty back together.”

Does getting adjusted hurt?

While getting adjusted isn’t painful, there are times when it might be a bit uncomfortable. Typically any discomfort is brief and mild with a feeling of improvement afterward.

Will I get adjusted like every other patient?

No, we provide customized care for each patient. Dr. wolverton will tailor his adjustments to meet your unique needs.

Can you help with my posture?

Yes, we provide posture evaluations and can shower you when it’s improved. Although you will probably know before I tell you. Improve structure and you improve function.

One of Dr. Wolverton’s patients came with primarily a shoulder issue. She works in the pharmacy field and had received several rounds of steroid injections, but wasn’t getting the relief she needed. Dr. Wolverton told her “this is chiropractic, (meaning what you receive here), not the medical model; I don’t even own an aspirin.” After receiving chiropractic care, the patient was so overjoyed by its effectiveness that she told colleagues about our natural approach.

We are delighted that more and more medical practitioners are recognizing the value of chiropractic care for themselves and their patients.
