Dr. Harrie Wolverton

Introducing Baton Rouge Chiropractor Dr. Harrie Wolverton

As a kid, from time to time I saw my father go to a chiropractor when "he didn't feel good". Dad never explained to us kids (I am the eldest of 4) in detail what occurred at the chiropractor's office except to express that the chiropractor had done something to dad's back. Upon dad's return, we could tell that he felt better and his disposition had improved.

In my late 20's, I was in Food and Beverage Management. One day while standing erect in one of my restaurants I sneezed. That sneeze felt like I just caught a spear in my back. I fell to my knees and almost blacked out. By that afternoon I was in a chiropractor's office, my very first chiropractic visit. You see, years earlier, I had made a conscience decision that if anything ever happened to my back I would go see a chiropractor. After just a few short visits, the chiropractor had me feeling like it had never happened and all this without taking the first pill. I was impressed.

Some months later, I transferred to another city and sought out a chiropractor. I desired more information about chiropractic. From our relationship, I decided that I had what it took to be a chiropractor. It was off to college and the rest, as they say, is history.

I began my pre-chiropractic education at Eastern Iowa University where I studied basic sciences such as inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, along with basic physiology and anatomy courses.

After completing studies there I was accepted at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport Iowa. During my four year curriculum at Palmer, courses included biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, X-ray, diagnosis, chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care in the Palmer College of Chiropractic Clinic. After graduating in 1985, I joined a multi-clinic as an associate in the New Orleans area and moved to Baton Rouge in 1988 to establish my private practice.

Being a Boy Scout Leader is something I really enjoy and being able to watch my son, Zach grow and learn through Boy Scouts makes it that much more worth while. And Oh, did I mention he is an Eagle Scout.  He earned his Eagle 3 days before his 15th birthday.

As a former athlete, U S Navy veteran and "survivor" of more than one motor vehicle crash, I am of course a chiropractic patient too. My health picture is being quite well managed with regular chiropractic care and I do not even own so much as an aspirin.

Can chiropractic cure a child's ear infections?
Chiropractic isn't a cure for anything. Nor is it a treatment for ear infections. However, many children who suffer with ear infections also suffer from spinal problems in their neck, compromising nerves to the ear, depressing the immune system and preventing proper drainage. Can chiropractic help? Find out!
What's the difference between maintenance, prevention and wellness?
Maintenance chiropractic care is an attempt to keep a dynamic, ever-changing and adapting organism (you) in a static relationship with your environment. Preventive chiropractic care is mostly about early detection. Wellness chiropractic care is an attempt to optimize our health and be all that you were designed to be.
